Cheddite 209 Shotgun Primers
To improve ballistic performances with most available powders, CHEDDITE has developed its dependable and powerful CLERINOX primer (US type). Regularity of CHEDDITE primer to provide a reliable powder ignition at optimum sensitivity will allow your cartridges to perform to your expectations. This regularity is obtained thanks to a strict quality control of all components : anvil, chamber, cap, mixture and to a continuous performance checking of the primer itself as well as when combined with a specific reference cartridge loading.
The non-corrosive explosive mixture does not contain mercuric compounds. The word, “Clerinox” is a trademark coming from the contraction of the words Clerieux (place in France where the primer paint originates) and “inox” which comes from the meaning, inoxadable=waterproof/stainless (and by extension, non-corroding).

I’ve been using these primers for my trap reloads (Used AA hulls, 1 1/8oz, WSF, 1250fps and a CB1118-12 wad) for a couple years now. I switched to Cheddites during the primer panic of a couple years ago. I shoot them in a BT-99 and a Citori 725. I have had zero issues with them. Everyone fired and none of them ‘punched-through’. I chrono’d them against Winchester 209 and Fiocchi 616 and found no statistically significant difference in speed. I did not test pressures, but based on only changing primers between otherwise identical loads, they are likely not too different.
I also use them in a bigger pheasant load, with identical results.
I’m buying them from here on out.
