To use the L-N-L O.A.L. Gauge, you will need to purchase a Modified Case to fit your firearm’s chamber and thread it onto the Gauge.

Accurate loads require a “proper” bullet seating depth. In most guns, bullets seated near the rifling will shoot most accurately. The Hornady OAL Gauge performs the task accurately, and easily in about one minute; using the same bullets you have selected for loading. After the gauge is removed from your firearm, a special port in the tool allows your caliper to measure from the case’s base to bullet tip. From this maximum OAL dimension, a proper bullet seating depth is easily determined. The easy to operate OAL Gauge can give results that are repeatable to .001”!
